BEN POTTER FALCONRY DISPLAY -
Ben will have a static display of his Falcons, Eagles, Vultures & more and will be offering our visitors a chance to walk with the birds as he takes them out on the front lawn of Mapledurham House.
Live Music from our Solo Pianist -
Live music will be played in the refreshments area by a Solo Pianist throughout the weekend and this will surely enhance the tranquillity of our beautiful venues.
We are pleased to confirm we have secured Media Partnerships with both the Reading Chronicle newspaper and Reading 107 FM for Mapledurham House in May. The Reading Chronicle will be delivering leaflets for the event, offering a discounted admission, to 13,500 homes in the area and Reading 107 FM will be promoting this by encouraging their listeners to look out for the leaflets arriving. As well as numerous editorials in the Newspaper and promos on the Radio, each of them are also highlighting the Show on their respective websites and selling advance tickets on our behalf. Reading 107 FM are also intending to broadcast live from Mapledurham on Bank Holiday Monday and we look forward to seeing them there.
As you can imagine this, in addition to our usual programme of advertising and promotion, means we will be reaching a wider audience than ever which in turn will ensure that as well as notifying all our regular visitors we will see an increase in the number of new visitors.
We are extremely pleased to announce the acquisition of a number of Shows previously organised by GMS Events and are looking forward to welcoming new faces and old friends. These new venues will include:
Newby Hall on 4/5/6 June
Dalemain on 9/10/11 July
Leighton Hall on 17/18/19 September
Shugborough Estate on 29/30/31 October

Lord Salisbury has decided to rest his fields during the winter months which means there will be no winter outdoor events at Hatfield House apart from the small area around the gifts shops which will be very tiny compared to Gifts for Christmas.
We have enjoyed 15 years of organising events at Hatfield House and consequently
are deeply disappointed that we will no longer be operating there. Despite many discussions
and correspondence over the last 9 months we have not been able to persuade Lord
Salisbury to change his mind. Ultimately it is his prerogative -
However as often happens one door closes and you believe all is lost, but another door opens which offers even greater opportunities for us all.
We have been extremely fortunate in being able to secure our event on the same date (4/5/6/7 November 2010) at Butterfly World which is just yards from Junction 21A of the M25 and is very much in the affluent side of the Hatfield catchment. We will therefore keep the title the Hatfield Gifts for Christmas & Live Crafts Show. Butterfly World is like a miniature Eden Project with a huge diadrome in it’s centre built as they have been at Eden in Cornwall. The press coverage has been extensive both nationally and locally and the local support for the venue has been immense.
The Show and all Visitor Parking will take place on hardstanding making this a very safe venue for November. Butterfly World also has the added benefit of full indoor catering and toilets which we know will be appreciated by both exhibitor and visitor.
Although we are very sorry to leave Hatfield House after so many years we are delighted to have found an alternative venue which we believe to be of real benefit to the Hatfield Gifts for Christmas & Live Crafts Show and will ensure it’s continuing success.
