Postponed Indefinitely

Regrettably we must inform you that due to a number of irresolvable issues which have developed and grown beyond our control we have had to make the decision to postpone the Middlesex Show planned for 19/20 June this year.

We had security breaches in both 2008 and 2009 by the undesirable element of the travelling community which resulted in an attempted raid last year. Attempts at securing this situation, while hopeful at first, have now failed making the security required out of all proportion to the event as a whole.

Having invested mentally, physically and financially over a three year period and knowing how much others have invested too; having watched this great community event grow and develop out of the ashes we are devastated that the security breaches have forced us to reach this decision. We will of course review the situation again for 2011 however this will depend on whether or not we can remove the threat completely.

We are disappointed for the public of the area who were really beginning to take ownership of their Middlesex Show. The public were helping to create a truly interactive community event missing from their annual calendar. Let’s hope it’s not gone forever!
